HOW CAN PMS BE RELIEVED: EVERYONE HATES ME
My doctor hasn't been able to help me. A week, sometimes two weeks, before my period I feel like no one wants to be around me. I am tired, dizzy, headachey, and very irritable. I'm sure everyone hates me until my period starts and I feel better. But then two weeks later, my awful feelings and paranoia begin again. I'm overweight, but otherwise I seem to be in good health. What can I do? Sometimes I'm so positive that nobody likes me I cry for hours.

This is an extremely sad and poignant letter. No one has given this woman the support she needs to understand her condition and help herself. The headaches, dizziness, and fatigue she is suffering are probably due to an estrogen imbalance. As mentioned in the previous discussion, she should cut down on her salt intake and drink plenty of water to wash out the existing salt. Daily dosage of vitamin B—particularly vitamin B6—in 50-to-500-milligram tablets might also help to counterbalance some of her symptoms, and diuretics might even be advised.
The fact that she is overweight is highly significant. Fatty tissue produces an excess of estrogen, so this woman obviously has an abundance of this hormone in her body. As her estrogen increases in the last half of her menstrual cycle, she is being overpowered. She must diet, exercise, and lose weight or the recommended remedies are likely to be ineffective.
She feels miserable and her unhappiness is probably causing her to eat more and grow fatter. Her added girth and despondency might be driving her friends away. She must begin to think positively, believe in herself, and try to slim down. If all this fails to help her improve significantly, she might well be a candidate for progesterone suppositories.
